Innovation, in terms of recycling, is perhaps the most striking and encouraging development in contemporary design and I have learned so much from a number of trailblazing young entrepreneurs. For example, did you know that literally millions of coconut shells are turned into waste each year after their flesh, oil and water have been harvested? They are then burned at large combustion sites creating huge emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere and releasing methane gas which are both extremely harmful to the environment.
Please note the Bowls may differ in shape as no coconut shell are the same!
A juxtaposition of exotic, tropical raw materials with minimalist design. And these are food-safe, so as well as gorgeous objets d’art, these bowls are practical and can be used to serve ice cream, nuts, olives and nibbles, as a place to keep jewellery or anything else that your heart desires. I was completely seduced by the simplicity of the concept and the quality and depth of the colours which really do pop – so much so that I have invested in nine different shades! Best of all, these coconuts will have a new life that does not pollute the planet and enriches the home.
